Funding by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT)
The FCT funding includes 6 Ph. D. grants per programme edition, starting in the 2014/2015 academic year, in a total of 24 grants. Calls will be published every year announcing the terms and dates of application. The Academic Committee of Do*Mar has the responsibility of selecting the grantees, which will receive their Ph. Each selected applicant will be awarded 1 "bolsa mista", which comprises a monthly stipend and supplementary support that may include tuition fees, relocation costs, travel awards and health insurance, when applicable. Ph. D. studentship stipends and the specific complementary support are detailed in the Regulations for Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.en). The rights and obligations of the grantees are described in the Portuguese Scientific Research Fellow Statute (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/estatutobolseiro.phtml.en).
Only Ph. D. students enrolled in Portuguese universities are eligible for a Do*Mar-FCT grant. Additionally, in order to be eligible for a Do*Mar-FCT grant the students need to demonstrate that they reside in Portugal at the time of application.
